The owners of the 360 Chicago observation deck at the former John Hancock Tower have purchased the previous home of the Signature Room restaurant on the building’s 95th and 96th floors.
In a statement obtained by the Chicago Sun-Times, the developers confirmed they are not planning a new restaurant for the 30,000 foot space. As for what the space will be used for, little information has been shared.
“We’re exploring a number of options for the space at this time,” 360 Chicago Managing Director Nichole Benolken said in a statement. “Our team is in the very early development stages, and we’ll have more information to share in the coming months.”
The Signature Room restaurant closed abruptly in 2023 after 3 decades, citing economic hardship as the catalyst for the closure. The Signature Room was a favorite fine dining spot among Chicagoans, with its unmatched views of the city and classic upscale fare.
