The city of Chicago is no longer requiring vaccinated people to wear masks in most settings, in accordance with the latest CDC guidelines, city health officials announced May 18.
Individuals are only considered fully vaccinated if it has been at least two weeks since they received their second Pfizer or Moderna vaccine dose or Johnson and Johnson single dose.
People who are not fully vaccinated must continue wearing masks in all indoor settings, and all Chicagoans are still required to wear masks in schools, health care settings, public transportation and correctional/congregate settings.
Businesses are strongly advised, though not required, to continue masking policies indoors until capacity restrictions are eased and the city enters Phase Five.
