Microsoft selects Chicago as host city for annual “Microsoft Ignite” convention

Tech giant Microsoft has selected Chicago as the host city for its annual Microsoft Ignite conference, scheduled to take place from November 18-22 at McCormick Place.

Microsoft Ignite is the company’s largest annual networking event, bringing tech leaders together to experience the latest innovations from Microsoft. Attendees will have the opportunity to attend special training sessions and connect with other professionals from Microsoft and the tech industry at large.

Microsoft has partnered with Choose Chicago and the Metropolitan Pier and Exposition Authority to present the convention. The event is anticipated to bring thousands of attendees to Chicago and generate $44 million in economic impact.

"I am pleased to extend a warm welcome to Microsoft Ignite 2024,” said Mayor Brandon Johnson. “Microsoft’s choice to host Ignite 2024 in Chicago reaffirms this city’s standing as a hub for innovation, technological advancement, and major corporate events.” 

According to the company, Artificial Intelligence technologies will be a focus of this year’s convention. Attendees can expect to learn about how the development of AI is poised to positively impact scientific research and human advancement.
