PNC Chicago partners with Metropolitan Family Services to give back

PNC Grow up Great gives back to Chicago’s youth | PNC Rep engages with Chicago preschoolers

PNC Chicago has partnered with Metropolitan Family Services (MFS) this month to give back to local early education centers through PNC’s philanthropic initiative Grow Up Great

Pledging over 1,000 volunteer hours, PNC leaders plan to visit more than 75 preschool classrooms to educate and engage with children as part of “GREAT Month.” Seven PNC leaders will visit MFS classrooms Wednesday morning to read to preschoolers.

Seven teachers will receive a $250 gift card to purchase necessary school supplies through educational supplier Lakeshore Learning. More than a hundred preschoolers will receive a special PNC “Can Do Kit” containing five learning games for use in the classroom or at home.

Launched in 2004, PNC’s Grow Up Great is a bilingual, $500 million, multi-year campaign that seeks to aid in the educational development of young children from birth to age five. The initiative is built on the principle of education being a vital tool for social and economic mobility across a lifetime.

Since the program’s inception, PNC leaders have proudly dedicated over one million volunteer hours to early childhood educational development. In Chicago alone, PNC has raised over $15M for more than 90 early education centers across the region.
