Chicago police have identified a crime spree connected to multiple incidents involving an armed robbery crew approaching individuals at gunpoint, 2nd Ward Alderman Brian Hopkins announced in an email to residents on Thursday.
Police say these incidents take place at night and involve a lone offender approaching a victim. The robbery crew has reportedly demanded the victim's phone, wallet or car keys, and police believe at least three offenders are involved.
Police ask anyone who has been a victim of this type of crime or witnessed a similar crime to immediately call 911. Known incidents, dates and times are:
- 500 block of North Rush Street at approximately 1:44 a.m. June 24
- 400 block of East Erie Street at approximately 12:02 a.m. June 26
- 200 block of East Grand Avenue at approximately 12:27 a.m. June 26
- 200 block of East Ohio Avenue at approximately 12:40 a.m. June 26
- 200 block of South Wabash Avenue at approximately 12:58 a.m. June 26
- 100 block of North Michigan Avenue at approximately 12:51 a.m. June 26
- 200 block of West Washington Street at approximately 2 a.m. June 26
- 400 block of West Wisconsin Street at approximately 9 p.m. July 25
- 2000 block of North Racine Avenue at approximately 9:30 p.m. July 25
- 6700 block of North Rockwell Street at approximately 10:50 p.m. July 25
- 0-100 block of South Desplaines Street at approximately 12:40 a.m. July 26
Police and saturation teams in the area are continuing to monitor the area for theft and robbery.
