Pop sensation & “Come to Mama” singer Lady Gaga becomes a mom, reveals baby name

Lady Gaga and Michael Polansky have welcomed a daughter named Rose Bean Polansky, according to reports that cite a birth certificate obtained by TMZ. The document says the baby was born June 9, 2026, in Los Angeles. 

The couple has not publicly commented on the name or their daughter’s arrival.

Meaning behind Rose Bean

According to Yahoo Entertainment, sources said the first name Rose may nod to Gaga’s performance of Edith Piaf’s “La Vie en Rose” in “A Star Is Born,” a song tied to one of her most famous screen roles. Gaga also has a rose tattoo on her spine, which she got in 2019 as a tribute to that film.

TMZ suggested the middle name Bean may honor late activist and disco singer Carl Bean, whose 1977 song “I Was Born This Way” helped inspire Gaga’s hit “Born This Way.”

Gaga has long said she wanted a family. In a March interview on “Good Morning America,” she said she wanted marriage and children more than anything before meeting Polansky, the Chicago Tribune reported. She also called herself “a family girl.”

Reports from the Yahoo Entertainment article say Gaga has been in “full nesting mode,” holding the baby often, singing to her daughter and writing lullabies. 

While the singer did not confirm how the baby was born—with some speculating surrogacy—an insider told Page Six that Gaga had been trying since 2024 and has had “ups and downs” on her road to becoming a mother.

The relationship between Gaga, whose real name is Stefani Germanotta, and Polansky became public in 2020. They got engaged in 2024, the Chicago Tribune noted, and later made their first red carpet appearance together at the Venice Film Festival.
