"We took over the space next door, so our capacity is over 200 now," said Sophia Stolis, sales and events director for Lodge Management Group, which operates Streeter's Tavern. "Obviously, we can't accommodate that yet, with the guidelines, but we're looking forward to it when everything goes back to normal."
A staple of the Streeterville community since 1984, Streeter's will continue to offer many of the activities and amenities it is known for, including games such as ping pong, giant Jenga and foosball, as well as the two-way mirror in the bathrooms -- all part of the experience the tavern hopes to offer as "the greatest bar below earth," Stolis said.
The bar's draft system has increased to allow for a greater amount of beer on draft, she said.
"We have a lot of local beers that we're proud of, local Chicago like Goose Island; Born + Raised is one of our popular ones," she said. "We've got a wide variety of craft beer."
Streeter's Tavern is open from 11 a.m.-11 p.m. seven days a week.
