The Navy Pier Flyover is now officially open! Alderman Brian Hopkins, Alderman Brendan Reilly, CDOT Commissioner Biagi, IDOT Secretary Osman and other transportation leaders joined Mayor Lori Lightfoot for the ribbon cutting of the Navy Pier Flyover on May 10.
The Navy Pier Flyover is an elevated path for safer walking and biking along the Lakefront Trail near Navy Pier, one of the most heavily used portions of the 18.5 mile trail.
The dedicated bike and pedestrian path now extends from the Chicago River Bridge to Jane Addams Park and provides a safer and scenic alternative route to several congested intersections along the Lakefront Trail.
The path will include stairs and ground-level entrances and exits for easy access. LET'S GO!
