Winterland at Gallagher Way in Wrigleyville is open now through February 20, 2022, and is spreading joy and holiday cheer through its many seasonal programs and activities.
This year includes the return of the famous Christkindlmarket Wrigleyville, ice skating on an 8,000-square-foot ice rink, curling and skating lessons, Santa’s Workshop, wreath making classes, holiday movie screenings, special programming at Hotel Zachary and much more. New to this year’s transformation are ice bumper cars and even more festive décor.

Christkindlmarket Wrigleyville
The Christkindlmarket Wrigleyville at Gallagher Way, open now through December 31, will, give visitors the opportunity to shop for the holidays and taste traditional German and international foods while enjoying family-friendly entertainment.
Rooted in German tradition, the Christkindlmarket—which is always free of admission—is well known for its traditional candy cane-striped wooden huts, festive shopping options, international delicacies, hot spiced wine (Glühwein), fine beers, hand-crafted ornaments and family fun. This year, the market is celebrating it’s 25th anniversary and will be unveiling a commemorative mug for the celebration!

• Monday through Thursday: 3-9 p.m.
• Friday and Saturday: 11 a.m.-10 p.m.
• Sunday: 11 a.m.-7 p.m.
Special Hours:
• Christmas Eve (December 24): 11 a.m.-4 p.m.

The Rink at Gallagher Way
Gallagher Way invites visitors to The Rink at Gallagher Way now through February 20, 2022, weather permitting. The Rink welcomes all skill levels to skate on their own, participate in skating lessons, learn to curl and ride ice bumper cars, a new attraction this year.
Admission is free for skaters 12 years and younger; $6 for skaters 13 years and older. Guests may bring their own skates or rent skates on-site for $12. Skate aids are available for $10 per hour. Bags can be checked for $2.

Ice Bumper Cars
Gallagher Way introduces ice bumper cars in January 2022. Bump, slide and spin on The Rink Monday through Thursday from 5-9 p.m., Saturdays from 5-9 p.m. and Sundays from 3-7 p.m. The cost is $15 for a 10-minute ride.
Learn To Skate at Gallagher Way
Starting in January 2022, guests three years of age and older can learn to ice skate like a professional with a six-week series of small private group lessons. The hour-long courses will run on Saturdays and Sundays from 9-10 a.m. or 10-11 a.m. Participants can learn basic skills like two-foot turns and skating forward, while more advanced skaters will learn forward and backward cross overs and edge work.
Lessons cost $100 for the six-week period. Space is limited and registration is require, gallagherway.com.
Learn To Curl at Gallagher Way
Guests can learn how to curl by signing up for hour-long classes taught by curling professionals on select days in February 2022 from 6-9 p.m. Participants will learn the rules and etiquette of the sport before “sweeping” to a victory.

Holiday Movies at Gallagher Way
Guests can watch classic holiday movies at Gallagher Way every Thursday in December starting at 6 p.m.

Holiday Programming at Hotel Zachary
Breakfast With Santa Hotel Zachary’s favorite holiday tradition, Breakfast with Santa, is returning for its third year this winter season. On Saturdays and Sundays now through December 18, families are invited to enjoy a special holiday-inspired breakfast buffet, featuring an assortment of upscale options for both children and adults to enjoy, while Jolly Old Saint Nick relaxes near the fireplace, waiting to visit with good boys and girls and listen to their holiday wishes.
Additional Breakfast with Santa details:
• Santa is available Saturdays and Sundays from 8 a.m.-12 p.m.; breakfast buffet is available from 8-11 a.m.
• The holiday buffet is $35 for adults and children ages four to 12 are $15; pricing also includes choice of hot chocolate, coffee, tea or juice, and a visit with Santa
• Reservations are required in advance and will be available beginning Monday, November 1, on Resy.com
Teddy Bear Tea -- Create warm winter memories with high tea for you, your little one and their best stuffed friend with Teddy Bear Tea at Hotel Zachary. On Sunday afternoons now through December 19, families are invited to enjoy a festive tea service, featuring Rare Tea Cellars. Children can indulge in a pot of house-made hot chocolate, tea sandwiches and light bites, scones, cupcakes and more sweet treats.

• Available on Sundays at 1 p.m.
• Adult tea service is available for $45 per person and children up to 12 years are $25

Storytime making his return to Hotel Zachary’s Library to perform the fun-filled “Juggling Funny Stories,” is a nationally known story-performer, Chris Fascione. Now through December 30, two story-time readings with Chris will be available on select Wednesdays and Saturday afternoons from 1-1:30 p.m. and 2-2:30 p.m. A curated menu of hot chocolate, cookies, snacks and hot toddies for adults, will be available for purchase a la carte. Reservations are required in advance on Resy.com.
Gallagher Way will open its concession stands for the winter season offering festive alcoholic beverages like Glühwein, Spiked Ciders and Seasonal Craft Beers, all available for purchase throughout the various on-site events.
