Spirits & Spice, a Wyoming-based retailer specializing in gourmet foods, spices, liqueurs and other culinary items, opened a new store in October at Water Tower Place, the company's first location in Illinois.

Located on the seventh floor of the mall, 835 N. Michigan Ave., the business is open during Water Tower Place's regular hours: 11 a.m.-8 p.m. Monday through Saturday and 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. Sundays.

According to a company news release, Spirits and Spice was founded in Jackson Hole, Wyo. by husband-and-wife team Gary and Kim Weiss and has since expanded to locations in Las Vegas and Sedona, Ariz., in addition to the new Chicago store.

“Whether you’re a first-time customer or a repeat guest, every sip and sample you enjoy at Spirits and Spice is meant to be a transportive experience and, more importantly, fun,

Kim Weiss said in the news release. "We’re excited to expand out of our Southwest roots."

Spice blends offered at the store include creative mixes such as "Shake Your Peaches Spicy Rub" and "Bloody Good on Everything," and Spirits and Spice also sells oils and vinegars that are filled at the shop in glass bottles that can be refilled for a discount during future visits.
