The WNBA season is just in its infancy for 2025—two games in, to be exact—but the early returns are already in on star Indiana Fever player Caitlin Clark.
Some were wondering if she could continue from her amazing debut season last year. Suffice it to say that those “some” can stop wondering.
Caitlin Clark 2.0 has arrived, and she is bigger and better than ever—at least so far.
Clark already has two games of 20-plus points and over 10 assists (unbelievably, she is already second all-time in this stat for the WNBA), along with a rare triple-double to open the season against the Chicago Sky.
Not bad for just two games in.
Areas of improvement for her from last year? Clark appears physically stronger, her conditioning even better, and she seems to have minimized her turnovers just a bit, which were a problem last year.
Her passing remains simply amazing—an absolutely uncanny ability to lead her teammates at just the right moment, sometimes in the tightest of passing lanes. In addition, her length-of-the-court passes to sprinting teammates are the best of literally any player I have ever seen—and that includes the guys!
Of course, the signature Caitlin Clark plays—like the long-distance 3-point shots and the acrobatic drives to the basket—remain a vital part of her game, as her popularity continues sky high.
In fact, the opening game vs. the Chicago Sky and Clark nemesis Angel Reese got record ratings, as those two have seriously upped the popularity and watchability of the women’s professional game—even for the average fan.
Can she continue the upward spiral? En route to a sensational sophomore season? We shall see.
But there’s no question the very early returns are positive on all accounts. Clark and her Indiana Fever teammates continue to be must-see TV for any real basketball fan.
