“Never… (pass up a kids’ lemonade stand)” a poem

Never… not stop, to feel the breeze of a windy day blowing on your face.

Never… miss a sunset when on the beach, and never leave too soon. The after-sunset moments are sometimes the best.

Never… pass up a chance to watch kids just playing at a playground. Ditto, dogs in a dog park.

Never… look away, when you see a flock of birds gliding along flying in perfect formation.

Never… not stop to listen to a good street musician, just because you are “too busy.”

Never… pass up a chance to go talk to that stranger that your heart says “could be the one.”

Never… be afraid to get into a good, heated political argument, or any other kind of exchange of ideas that might cause some disagreement. It can be good for the soul. It gets the juices flowing. Silence is the easy way out.

But listen too. And learn. And Never… Never let it get in the way of a friendship or family.

Never... be afraid to sing in the shower.

Never… forget to write a simple thank-you note. Even for the slightest of things.

Never… forget your first kiss. Or your last kiss.

Never… forget to say thank you to the person refilling your water at a restaurant.

Never… forget to tell military veterans, “Thank you for your service.”

Never… forget to embrace—with grace and appreciation—all the simple wonders of life that sometimes pass us by because we are too busy with our daily lives.

And most of all… never… never… pass up a kids’ lemonade stand.
