Do you ever feel like you need a break from the rat race but barely even have time to remember to eat lunch, let alone plan a trip, look for deals on flights, and rally the troops? Well, lucky for you, a cozy fall getaway is just right around the corner from Chicago. It's a magical place to relax and unwind before returning to the Monday grind.

Of course, I'm talking about Dupage County. There, you will find all the makings of a weekend oasis. Be prepared to treat yourself to some spa days! If words like hydrotherapy, manicures, and massages make you happy, you're in for a treat!

My trip was short and sweet but worth every second. I checked into the Le Méridien Chicago at Oakbrook Center. It is steps away from luxury shopping and was the perfect peaceful home base for my trip.

Le Méridien partners with local art museums to provide free access to exhibits with your room key, so if you have a chance, step into the world of contemporary art while you are there. Pair that with the fantastic restaurants on site, and you are in for a winning combination.

While I did have the spa on my mind, I couldn't pass up a chance to try El Tapeo, the hotel's signature dining experience. I was taken by the bold Spanish flavors and the inviting atmosphere. It truly is a place to gather and enjoy yourself. They offer small, shareable tapas plates and amazing cocktails. I loved the mushroom croquettes and the seared scallops. If you have more of an appetite, the variety of paella options is lovely. This is a can't-miss spot.

At the Kohler Water Spa, I stepped into my happy place. Located in Burr Ridge, it's an oasis of tranquility that defines relaxation. Inspired by the healing properties of water and nature, this spa provides a serene atmosphere that transports you to a world of calm unlike any other.

I started my experience with what is called the Circle of Tranquility. This self-guided water experience includes a 25-foot whirlpool with a cascading waterfall, a steam room, and a sauna. It was just the perfect mindful start to the day.

From there, you can choose any of the many on-site amenities. From massage to waxing to VibraAcoustic® baths, there is something for everyone.

Feeling in full-on spa mode, I was treated to special delicacies along the way. Sugar Mommies of Chicago delivered some exquisite macaroons to our spa party. They are available to provide custom orders for special occasions. Check out this woman-owned company for your next event.

Whether you desire a calming massage, skincare revitalization, or a quiet escape, Kohler Waters Spa in Burr Ridge is the ideal destination for your fall retreat.

Before leaving the spa, we grabbed a salad from their on-site cafe. They offer a variety of breakfast and lunch bites, including amazing smoothies. It was so lovely to have a snack to refuel after my spa experience.

Dupage has a perfect blend of relaxation, sweet indulgences, exquisite cuisine, and a luxurious stay at the Le Méridien Hotel. Your cozy fall getaway to DuPage County promises to be a memorable experience. Embrace the rejuvenation and unwind close to home this fall.
