President Joe Biden will visit Chicago on Wednesday to deliver an address regarding his “Bidenomics” infrastructure and economic plan. According to the White House, the President landed at O’Hare International Airport at 10:15 a.m. and will deliver his speech downtown at approximately 12 p.m.

President Joe Biden will speak alongside Illinois Governor J.B. Pritzker, Illinois Senator Dick Durbin, and Chicago Mayor Brandon Johnson.

Biden’s speech will address key aspects of the infrastructure plan, including the Broadband Equity Access and Development program (BEAD). BEAD funding will include a $42 billion infrastructure investment that will bring high speed internet access to underserved areas across the nation.

BEAD funding will be allocated based on the Federal Communications Commission’s (FCC) updated broadband map, a guide outlining national internet access. The FCC will release the latest iteration of the map at the end of the month.

Biden’s visit comes as Chicago heads into its second consecutive day of unhealthy air quality due to the ongoing Canadian wildfires. It is advised that sensitive groups and the general public limit their time outside.

The President’s address will be live-streamed to the public beginning at 12 p.m. (CST) on Wednesday.
