Value surge and Musk’s current residence
The $49.8 million price tag represents roughly a $20.8 million increase from the 2020 sale, highlighting how provenance and upgrades elevate luxury pricing, Mansion Global noted. Musk originally sold the estate to Chinese billionaire William Ding for $29 million after announcing he planned to “own no house,” as reported by the Santa Monica Sun. Musk currently resides in Texas, splitting time between a modest 400-square-foot prefabricated house and a larger estate near Austin, per the same report.

The listing is held by Rayni Williams and Victoria Risko of The Beverly Hills Estates. The Real Deal confirmed. Luxury real estate buyers now have a rare chance to own a tech mogul's trophy home, with sweeping city and ocean views from the private compound above the Bel-Air Country Club.
