A Fulton Market apartment building is set to be transformed into a hotel under a new development plan.

According to Crain’s, developer Fulton Street Cos. has signed an agreement to turn the Fulton Street Lofts at 910 W. Lake St. into a 140-room boutique hotel.

Pending City Council approval, the new development would join a block of other hotels in Chicago, including Soho House, Nobu Chicago, and the Hoxton.

According to Crain’s, the hotel industry in Chicago has bounced back some since the Covid-19 crisis amid a surge in leisure travel. With more tourists making their way to the Windy City, the need for new hotel accommodations has increased.
