Nautilus Solar Energy, a leader in community solar solutions, recently announced the relocation of its corporate headquarters to Chicago. According to the press release, this strategic move aims to leverage and expand the company's commitment to clean energy accessibility, particularly in regions poised for significant growth, such as Illinois.

Nautilus announced that it plans to make Illinois a top market by adding 29 megawatts of solar energy to the local grid during the summer of 2025, with 10 megawatts specifically dedicated to reducing energy costs for low-income households. These efforts are part of a larger initiative, which will see over 100 megawatts of solar capacity introduced to the state within the next year, according to the press release.

Impact on community and economy

The new Chicago headquarters is set to enhance regional project development and finance management. Jeffrey Cheng, Chief Executive Officer of Nautilus, stated in the announcement, “Relocating our headquarters to Chicago reinforces our commitment to supporting regional growth while still allowing us to service our core legacy markets.” The move is also accompanied by assurances of grid resiliency and economic uplift for local communities.

As a remote-first company, Nautilus claims that it remains at the forefront of community solar initiatives, now operating 146 projects across 12 states, providing service to more than 45,000 subscribers. With this relocation, Nautilus promises to augment its role in reducing energy costs for families and contributing to sustainable energy infrastructure.

“Opening our new headquarters in Chicago is an exciting step that reflects both the momentum of our business and the opportunity we see in the region,” added Camelia Miu, Chief Financial Officer, further emphasizing the localized economic benefits and energy choices made accessible through regional solar projects.

By situating the new headquarters at 200 North LaSalle St, Suite 2630, Chicago, Nautilus reinforces its dedication to energy independence and sustainability in an era where clean energy solutions are paramount.
