Unique opportunities for emerging talent

Each year, this program provides one emerging craft brewer the unique chance to collaborate with Samuel Adams' industry professionals, including founder Jim Koch. The experience includes visiting the Boston Brewery, co-producing a specialty beer, and attending the Great American Beer Festival with the Samuel Adams team, the press release states.

Moor’s Brewing Co., founded in Chicago by Damon Patton, Jamhal Johnson, and Anthony Bell, has expanded to over 500 retailers nationwide since its 2021 launch. In February 2025, Moor’s Brewing Co. celebrated the opening of Chicago's first Black-owned taproom, Diversey House, in collaboration with Steep Ravine Brewing Company, according to a press release on the Diversey House website.

A celebration of diversity and innovation

The selection of Moor's Brewing Co. for the Samuel Adams award followed the annual Crafting Dreams Beer Bash on June 5th in New York City, highlighting their signature brew amidst strong competitors, the press release says. Jim Koch shared enthusiasm in the announcement, saying, “Every year, we meet brewers who represent the future of craft beer—and Moor’s Brewing Co. embodies that future with bold vision, entrepreneurial grit, and a commitment to building something greater than beer alone.”

Co-founder Jamhal Johnson expressed that winning is "more than an award" but also an opportunity for growth and a deeper connection with their mission, the announcement says. Soon, Moor’s Brewing Co. will partner with Samuel Adams to release a special beer, with further details to be shared in the upcoming months.
