A Texas dessert sensation is landing in Chicago. The Bougie Foodie, a cult favorite for oversized cookies and family-recipe bread pudding, opens its first spot outside the Lone Star State this April. According to a press release, the new shop sits at 210 N. Carpenter St. in Fulton Market, the bustling West Loop neighborhood.
Pastry chef Brianna Cryar founded the brand in 2023, the press release states. While the bakery started in a shared Austin kitchen with pickup and delivery, fans soon flocked to farmers' markets and pop-ups to try The Bougie Foodie’s treats.
Fresh-baked all day
The Chicago outpost will bake in small batches all day, the team confirmed. This keeps cookies warm and desserts fresh into the night. Cryar dreamed up the idea when she craved late-night sweets in Austin.
“When I moved to Austin, I realized there weren’t any local bakeries open at night,” said Brianna Cryar, according to the press release. “I wanted a place where people could stop by after dinner for a warm cookie or decadent dessert.”

She added, “Chicago felt like the perfect city for that same experience, and it's somewhere I've wanted to live for a while now, so I moved up here and am looking forward to sharing our sweet treats with everyone in the area.”
Cryar first built the business while holding a full-time digital marketing job, the press release details. She baked nights and ran ads by day. In October 2025, she quit corporate life to grow the shop nationwide.
Mouthwatering dessert flavors
Menu stars include the Choco Chip Cookie Mountain. This six-ounce treat packs Guittard semisweet chips with a crisp outside and gooey core. Mimi’s Boozy Bread Pudding uses Cryar’s grandmother’s recipe, the press release confirms, topped with brandy sauce.
Expect rotating cookie flavors monthly. Weekend specials bring tiramisu and brown butter-glazed brioche cinnamon rolls. The shop welcomes corporate and event orders.
Hours run Tuesday to Saturday from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. Sunday opens at 11 a.m. until 8 p.m. It stays closed on Mondays.
Loyal Texas fans drive hours for these indulgences, according to The Bougie Foodie’s press release. Now, Chicagoans can grab freshly baked desserts without the road trip. The expansion marks Cryar’s push to share high-quality sweets across the country. Visit The Bougie Foodie's website for more information.
