Several media outlets have reported that Cité, the legendary restaurant that occupies the 70th floor of Streeterville’s Lake Point Tower, will be closing. Serving upscale American fare with a hint of French influence, the venue earned fame its cuisine as well as its panoramic views of downtown Chicago and Lake Michigan.

Elite Magazine hailed Cité “most romantic setting.” The Sun-Times described its Sunday brunch as the “best in Chicago.” The Tribune wrote that “royalty dines at Cité.”

The Chicago Tribune has reported that “the top floor is being marketed for sale to restaurant groups and wealthy individuals interested in converting it to a penthouse condo overlooking Lake Michigan,” according to broker Rick Scardino, “who represents restaurant owner Evangeline Gouletas in the sale.”
