Mesa Urbana, a popular neighborhood, Mexican fusion restaurant, hosted its Grand Opening Celebration on September 14. The charming hotspot is located at 1935 N. Lincoln Park West and, on this night, it was the scene of much merriment, food, drink and music.
Local celebrities, politicians, media personalities, fans, friends and supporters, about 100+ strong, gathered together to welcome Mesa Urbana to the neighborhood. And, even though the restaurant has been settled here for the last 8 months, the owners felt, due to pandemic fears, that they should hold off hosting an event until last night.
A combo from Lincoln Park High School played in the background as guests mixed and mingled. Spied in the crowd were Cook County Treasurer Maria Pappas, Chicago Film Festival founder Michael Kutza, auction maven Leslie Hindman, Fox-32 TV anchor Sylvia Perez, Ed Howlett, Baton Show Lounge entertainer Chilli Pepper and a host of other neighborhood friends and fans.
Co-owner Ash Taleb offered welcoming remarks before visiting with guests. The Taleb family has been in the restaurant business for the last 25 years. Their latest restaurant showcases a culmination of this knowledge with fine food, a delightful atmosphere and a sense of family. (www.mesaubana.com)
