After much speculation whether Taste of Chicago would be canceled this year, city officials announced the beloved foodie festival will take place Friday, September 8 through Sunday, September 10. The festival returns to its most popular past location, Grant Park. In previous years, the event has typically taken place in July.

City officials considered moving the event to Polk Bros Park near Navy Pier since Grant Park would be occupied by other private events for most of the summer. The highly anticipated NASCAR street race and Lollapalooza have booked considerable time with exclusive permits.

The Taste of Chicago was canceled in 2020 due to the pandemic. The fest became a series of pop-up events in neighborhoods in 2021 before staging a comeback in 2022.

This year, Taste of Chicago will still feature local restaurant food, concerts, and family activities. Additionally, there will be three Taste pop-up events throughout the summer, including Saturday, June 24 at Humboldt Park; Saturday, July 15 at Pullman Park, and Saturday, August 5 at Marquette Park.

The schedule and full list of restaurants for this free event has yet to be announced.
