A trendy new cocktail lounge will open on April 13 in the heart of Lincoln Square, bringing creative drink concepts and an exciting atmosphere to the Northside neighborhood. The Getaway will take over the space formerly occupied by The Grafton Pub, a long-time local haunt that closed in 2022.

The Getaway is the brainchild of 4 Entertainment Group (4EG), the business minds behind some of Chicago’s favorite nightlife spots including aliveOne, Estelle’s, and Central Park Bar.

For their latest venture, 4EG sought to retain their signature no-frills approach to bar design, while crafting an elevated new hangout for the Lincoln Square community.

The new neighborhood bar will carry the torch previously held by the Grafton, cultivating a welcoming space where Chicagoans can gather and unwind after a long day. The Getaway will revitalize the space while paying homage to the former pub, with an eclectic, vintage-inspired design.

The main bar area will include 20 bar seats and a long banquette with additional seating, all designed with warm antique furnishings. The full space will have seating for 80 people and include a cozy back room with a fireplace.

Patrons can expect a menu featuring plenty of creative cocktails like the tropical “Cocorococonut” and the spirit-forward “Smoke ‘em if You Got ‘em”. The menu will also feature a long list of local and international beers, and happy hour specials Monday-Friday.

“We wanted to retain the charm of a friendly neighborhood tavern where the regulars feel like family and the bartender knows your name while also bringing something new and dynamic to the area,” said 4EG partner David Halpern.

“Our vision was to create a multifaceted experience, with a cozy and inviting ambiance of a neighborhood bar in the front that seamlessly transitions into a more playful, lively lounge area in the back," continues Halpern.

The Getaway will officially open on Saturday, April 13, at 4530 Lincoln Avenue. Visit 4EG's official site to learn more.
