Chicago Children's Theatre is partnering with the Lurie Center for Childhood Resilience at Lurie Children's Hospital to create a new series of webinars focused on trauma-informed arts education.

The free trio of events, titled “Trauma Informed Arts Education for a Trauma Informed Illinois," invites educators, child mental health experts and teaching artists to learn how to identify and assist children who have experienced trauma.

“Trauma Informed Arts Education is gaining traction in schools of late, for good reason, but it’s happening predominately in middle and high schools,” Jacqueline Russell, Chicago Children’s Theatre artistic director, said in a news release. “What we’re saying is that if you’re not already addressing trauma and its toll on mental health among very young children, including pre-K, you’re starting too late.”

The free, live webinars will be held on three consecutive Wednesdays in December and are open to participants in Chicago and beyond. Attendees can register online at https://zoom.us/webinar/register/WN_aTrg8viUQn2r9hqO__pkgg.
