ALSACE TWP., Pa. -- An Alsace Township man is accused of shooting a BB gun multiple times at another man during what is being described by state police as a road rage incident.
State Police were called to the 3000 block of Pricetown Road around 5:15 p.m. Thursday. Once on scene authorities say they spoke with the victim, who told police he was involved in a verbal argument with another man, identified as Daniel Iezzi, 61.
The victim told state police, Iezzi turned left in front of him in an unsafe manner and an argument started. During the argument, the victim said Iezzi pulled out what appeared to be a firearm and fired 5-6 shots toward him.
"It looks almost exactly like a real pistol. Had somebody seen that, there's no confusion looking at it, especially from a distance or even up close it could be absolutely identifiable as a possible real firearm," described Trooper Adam Beidler, PA State Police Troop L, of the weapon used during the road rage incident.
The victim was not hit.
Police were able to find Iezzi based on a description if his truck that was parked on Hemlock Ln.
Police say Iezzi admitted to pulling out the firearm and firing the shots during an argument with another man. He gave police the weapons, according to the police report.
The weapons are described as two black, and realistic looking BB guns.
"These were metal BB's inside of the weapon. It's still considered a weapon. It doesn't have an orange tip like an airsoft gun would and it does shoot metal things. It can kill smaller animals such as squirrel, rabbits etc., but it can also do serious damage to a person," Beidler continued to say.
Beidler continued to say when involved in a road rage situation there are other ways to deal with your anger. "Whether that means you have to pull over and take a second in order to cool down or if somebody was road raging against you pull over, slow down, drive to a nearest police station. There are so many different avenues that we can take and started an argument or escalating it to something physical worse than that is not the option we should be taking"
Iezzi faces charges of terroristic threats and simple assault.
His bail is set at $50,000 unsecured.
