Bethlehem hit and run crash scene

BETHLEHEM, Pa. -- Bethlehem police are investigating a hit-and-run late Thursday night that left a pedestrian seriously injured.

Just before 10:30 p.m., several 911 callers reported that a vehicle hit a pedestrian in the 2100 block of Industrial Drive, then the driver fled the scene, police said in a news release Friday morning.

The pedestrian was unresponsive in the road and was rushed to the hospital with serious injuries, police say.

Officers found the offending vehicle about an hour later in the 2900 block of Avon Road, about 4 miles away. Police say they also identified the driver of the vehicle, but no arrests have been made as of Friday morning.

The pedestrian remains hospitalized with what appear to be serious but not life-threatening injuries, police say.
