SHREVEPORT, La. -- A Caddo Parish grand jury has handed up an indictment in a homicide that happened eight years ago.
Keithon Sharoid Lovelace, 45, of Shreveport, was indicted for second-degree murder in the April 27, 2017 shooting death of Randy Taylor, 30, who was shot multiple times in the 900 block of Ascalon Street.
Lovelace was arrested on March 11 in Panola County, Texas, where he had been living under an alias. He was arrested there on an unrelated narcotics charge, which led to his true identity and information about the outstanding warrant for second-degree murder.
Lovelace is held in the Caddo Correctional Center on a $1 million bond.
Other indictments returned by the grand jury include:
- Melvin Dewayne Washington, 40, of Bossier City, second-degree murder in connection with the Feb. 26 slaying of Alvin Brinson, 41, who suffered a sharp-force injury to his neck following a domestic dispute at a residence in the 500 block of East Stoner Avenue. He also is in custody at CCC.
- Trevion Marquis Dawon Simmons, 24, of Shreveport, first-degree rape. He is in custody at CCC and was booked April 13.
- Michael Lynn Parker, 63, of Shreveport, first-degree rape. He is in custody at CCC and was booked April 29.
