By some estimations, there are more than 400 unsolved homicides in Montana since 1980. These are the type of cases that haunt family members and law enforcement agents for years.
By definition, a cold case is simply a criminal investigation that remains unsolved for an extended time and has had all available investigative leads exhausted. But the case remains open – awaiting new evidence, a tip or new technology.
