RANCHO CUCAMONGA, California — Deputies responded to a disturbance in Rancho Cucamonga, leading to a pursuit and arrests involving a concealed firearm and resisting an officer.

The incident unfolded on December 8, 2024, according to a press release from the Rancho Cucamonga Police Department.

Deputies were dispatched to the 12000 block of North Mainstreet following reports of a disturbance involving subjects carrying a firearm. Upon arrival, they encountered four individuals, two of whom fled on foot. Marlon Gutierrez, a 20-year-old resident of Upland, was detained shortly after in a nearby parking structure, while Isaac Cannon, a 19-year-old resident of Rancho Cucamonga, initially evaded capture. A 16-year-old juvenile from Upland was found in possession of a loaded firearm.

The investigation revealed that Cannon had left the scene in a vehicle and was located at a local shopping center. As deputies attempted to make contact, Cannon fled, leading to a pursuit through Rancho Cucamonga and onto the 210 Freeway. The pursuit concluded when a deputy executed a Pursuit Intervention Technique (P.I.T. maneuver) on Cannon's vehicle, after which Cannon fled on foot but was subsequently detained.

Gutierrez was arrested for resisting an executive officer, and Cannon was arrested for felony evading. Both were booked at the West Valley Detention Center. The juvenile was arrested for possession of a loaded firearm and resisting an executive officer and was booked at San Bernardino Juvenile Hall.
