EDGEFIELD COUNTY, S.C. (WFXG) - While already in custody, 38-year-old Quenell Marquis Anderson has now been served with an additional charge. On Thursday, May 1, the South Carolina Law Enforcement Division (SLED) charged Anderson with Possession of a Weapon During a Violent Crime.
Anderson has been behind bars since March 20, 2024, when he was charged in connection with the murder of 35-year-old Ricky Martin Jr. of Sumter, SC. The Johnston Police Department originally requested the investigation, and SLED has been handling the case ever since.
Anderson remains at the Edgefield County Detention Center while his legal process unfolds. The 11th Circuit Solicitor’s Office will oversee prosecution as the case moves forward.
