Tuesday, Feb. 25

At 3:25 p.m. a Fayette County Deputy arrested Steven Jacob Beach, 50, from Oelwein, on a Fayette County warrant for violation of the Iowa Sex Offender Registry. Beach was taken into custody and transported to the Fayette County Jail where he was held on $10,000 bond.

At 7:03 p.m. deputies responded to a report of a car vs. deer accident on Highway 3, near the intersection of Unicorn Rd. Ethan Lape, 26, of Oelwein, was driving a 2012 Buick Lacrosse when a white tail deer came out of the ditch and collided with the front of the vehicle. No injuries were reported and the car sustained around $1,500 in damage.

At 8:02 p.m. deputies responded to a car-deer accident in the 8000 block of Y Avenue. Ashlee Everman, 34, of West Union, was driving a 2013 Ram pickup on Y Avenue, when a deer struck her vehicle. No injuries were reported, and the vehicle sustained approximately $4,000 in damages.

At approximately 8:45 p.m. a deputy arrested Jennifer Ann Burco, 54, of Oelwein, on a Fayette County warrant for assault. Burco was taken into custody and transported to the Fayette County Jail where she was held on $300 bond.

Monday, Feb. 24

A Fayette County Deputy Brian Beesecker, 52, of West Union, on a valid Fayette County arrest warrant for probation violation with original charges of domestic abuse and stalking. Beesecker was transported to the Fayette County Jail where he is held on no bond. Fayette County was assisted by the West Union Police Department.

Friday, Feb. 21

At 8:42 p.m. a deputy made a traffic stop on Cedar Road near 215th Street, rural Elgin. Lawrence Joseph McTaggart, 60, of Strawberry Point, was operating while intoxicated and was transported to the Fayette County Jail where he was held until his initial appearance, charged with operating while intoxicated 1st offense and open container.
