At 7:28 p.m. a Fayette County Deputy arrested Leslie Thornton of Oelwein, on a valid Fayette County warrant for failure to appear. Thornton was transported to the Fayette County Jail where she was held on a $300 cash only bond and awaited an initial appearance before a Magistrate.

Friday, Aug. 8

At approximately 6:30 p.m. a deputy arrested Christopher Jones, 40, of Oelwein, on a valid Fayette County warrant for failure to appear. Jones was transported to the Fayette County Jail and held on a $100 cash/surety bond.

At approximately 12:45 p.m. the Fayette County Sheriff’s Office responded to a 911 call of a vehicle in the ditch on South Street near Main Street in Arlington. Clinton Jeffrey Howard, 45, of Webster City, was attempting a U-turn in a silver Chevrolet Silverado K150 truck when he lost control, entered the north side ditch, and struck a culvert. The pickup sustained minimal damages. No injuries were reported. A further investigation determined Howard was intoxicated. He was arrested for operating while intoxicated 1st offense (serious misdemeanor), failure to maintain control (simple misdemeanor) and 3 counts of child endangerment (aggravated misdemeanors). Howard was transported to the Fayette County Jail to await an initial appearance before a Magistrate.
