YELLOWSTONE NATIONAL PARK – As the holiday week approaches, Yellowstone National Park staff have important reminders for visitors regarding fire safety.
Visitors are urged to leave fireworks at home, as they are not permitted in the park. The only fires allowed are those within established fire rings at campgrounds and some backcountry campsites.
All campfires must be attended at all times and should be cold to the touch before being left unattended. This is especially crucial because the fire danger level at the park is currently high.
Park staff are asking everyone to plan activities with this in mind. Additionally, any smoke or fire sightings should be reported to rangers or by calling 911.
