JONESBOROUGH — The Watauga Valley Railroad Historical Society and Chuckey Depot Railroad Museum will host the Jonesborough Train Show July 24 and 25.

The Historic Jonesborough Train Show will feature vendors with railroad memorabilia of all types, including model train dealers, collectors, historic railroad artifacts, and more. The show will take place at Jonesborough Elementary School, located at 720 N. Cherokee Street.

This year’s event has expanded to two days and will feature approximately 90 vendor tables. Vendors will be traveling from across the South, Midwest, and Eastern United States to take part in this exciting event, offering visitors a wide variety of railroad collectibles, model trains, and unique railroad treasures.

Guests can enjoy a variety of food vendors throughout the weekend. On Friday, attendees can enjoy food from Pastor Pig BBQ, Crave, Wetzel’s Pretzels, Top Dog Hot Dogs, and El Lagunero. On Saturday, Banjo BBQ joins Top Dog Hot Dogs and El Lagunero to provide delicious food options throughout the day. The Polished Pineapple will also offer desserts both days!

If you love railroad history and memorabilia, Jonesborough is the place to be. Come out, bring a friend or the whole family, and enjoy two days filled with railroad nostalgia, shopping, history, and fun.

The Chuckey Depot Railroad Museum will also be open during the show, allowing visitors to experience vintage glimpses of regional railroading. Admission is free, but donations are always appreciated. The Chuckey Depot was originally constructed in Chuckey in 1906 by the Southern Railway. It was later moved to Jonesborough to save it from demolition, and today it stands as a beautifully restored depot and museum located at 110 South Second Avenue in Jonesborough. Visitors may even catch a glimpse of a passing Norfolk Southern train while visiting the depot.

The Historic Jonesborough Train Show will take place on Friday and Saturday, July 24 and 25, from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. each day. Admission is $7, and children ages 10 and under accompanied by an adult are admitted free. The event is wheelchair accessible.
