Hope House will host a Hope For Kids Benefit Dinner on Oct. 26 at Agape BBQ from 6-8 p.m. The event will include live music, food, stories and coming together to make an impact at the Hope House.
Tickets for the event are $30, which includes dinner and a chance to participate in all activities during the evening.
“I think we all have the opportunity and responsibility to look out for people who don’t have the privileges that we have,” Community Engagement Director Adam Stone said. “Certainly kids who were born with profound disabilities who can’t speak or talk or walk, don’t have a choice. Who else is there to lean on but our community?”
Hope House is a local non-profit organization that focuses on providing permanent care to children with special needs or disabilities. They strive to create a better life for children in need of special care.
“We have caregivers who take care of these [children], but it takes more than that,” Stone said. “I really believe it takes the community and that’s what we’re going to be talking about.”
Stone is also a local music artist who will perform at the event with his band. In addition, there will also be “Name That Tune” bingo.
Stone said some of Hope House’s funds are provided from the state, but the organization is still responsible for a majority of the funds they bring in for supplies and care.
“We have to bring in about $8,000-$9,000 per month to support our Hope House residents,” Stone said. “We have 25 adults and about 16 kids.”
Stone said this event is not just any charity event, but one for the entire community to enjoy.
“It’s going to be a lot of fun,” Stone said. “I don’t think you can do wrong in Liberty Hill serving a plate of BBQ and some live music.”
