A Greene County man faces three charges after Paragould police said he assaulted a woman and then assaulted two people who tried to stop the assault.
Thomas Hortenberry, 32, of Paragould was arrested July 20 on suspicion of domestic battery in the third degree and two counts of battery in the third degree.
According to a probable cause affidavit, officers went to a home on West Main Street July 20 after a 911 hang up.
When they arrived, police said they saw the victim running out of the house, saying Hortenberry had assaulted her.
Police were able to arrest Hortenberry at the scene and spoke with the two witnesses.
“Two witnesses inside the residence told officers that they attempted to get (Hortenberry) off the victim and he began attacking them, causing minor injuries,” Paragould police said.
A $10,000 cash-only bond was set for Hortenberry, who was being held in the Greene County jail awaiting an arraignment in circuit court.
