Noah Reynolds scored 18 points, including a go-ahead layup with 12.8 seconds remaining as TCU scored the final seven points to defeat visiting Kansas State 63-62 on Saturday in Fort Worth, Texas. Vasean Allette and Trazarie White added 14 points each for TCU (8-5, 1-1 Big 12), which improved to 8-0 in home games, while falling to 0-5 in road and neutral-court contests. Dug McDaniel with scored all 12 of his points in the second half for Kansas State (7-6, 1-1), which has lost 12 straight road games dating back to Jan. 9 of last season. Coleman Hawkins added 11 points for the Wildcats, while David N'Guessan and Brendan Hausen added 10 apiece. N'Guessan set a career high with 17 rebounds. Kansas State used an 8-0 run early in the second half to grab its first lead since the opening minutes of the game at 39-37 with 13:52 remaining. But the Wildcats had trouble putting away TCU. The margin stayed within four points until K-State grabbed a 59-54 lead with 4:03 remaining. The Wildcats stretched the lead to 62-56 with 3:14 left, but didn't score again. Brendan Wenzel hit a 3-pointer to bring TCU within a point at 62-61 with 1:15 left. Hawkins missed a layup for Kansas State with 25 seconds left. Following a Kansas State miss from the free-throw line, Reynolds gave TCU the go-ahead score on a layup. McDaniel missed a layup attempt for the Wildcats in the closing seconds and K-State's tip-in attempt went awry. After falling behind 6-2 early, TCU used a 13-2 run to seize control. But a four-point play by Brandon Hausen got the Wildcats rback into it. Hausen's long-range shot was the exception in the first half. The Wildcats missed 13 of their first 14 attempts from 3-point range and finished the half shooting just 13.6 percent (3 of 22) from long range in the half. Hausen was 3 of 5 from distance, including one just before halftime to trim Kansas State's deficit to 27-24. Hausen's 10 points led the Wildcats in the first half. Hawkins added eight points and N'Guessan had 14 rebounds before halftime. --Field Level Media
