READING, Pa. – Community members in Reading came out in full force for the John Lewis Day of Action.
The peaceful protest was one of about 1,700 across the nation.
It's all in honor of Congressman John Lewis, who was a prominent civil rights activist.
Organizers say they were inspired by his call to make "good trouble."
They say they're protesting the Trump administration's immigration policy, and what they call attacks on rights and the gutting of essential services.
In response, the White House said "Nearly 80 million Americans gave President Trump a historic mandate to Make America Great Again...and he is delivering on that promise in record time."
