San Joaquin County task force disrupts major drug trafficking operation

STOCKTON, California — A criminal group involved in trafficking methamphetamine, cocaine, and firearms was targeted by the San Joaquin County METRO Narcotics Task Force in September 2024. On December 10, 2024, task force officers moved to apprehend the suspects during a narcotics sale, leading to a high-speed chase through a crowded Home Depot parking lot.

The suspects fled in a vehicle, driving recklessly and endangering the public and law enforcement personnel, according to the San Joaquin County Sheriff's Office. The pursuit ended when officers used a patrol vehicle to block the suspects, preventing further risk to the community. Several suspects attempted to flee on foot but were swiftly apprehended.

A search of the suspect vehicle revealed 25 pounds of methamphetamine and approximately a quarter kilogram of cocaine. Three individuals were arrested and booked into the San Joaquin County Jail, facing multiple charges related to drug trafficking, reckless driving, and other criminal offenses. This operation highlights the METRO Narcotics Task Force's commitment to disrupting illegal drug trade and protecting public safety, stated the source.
