The Central Texas Regional Mobility Authority (Mobility Authority) announced at the October 2024 Board meeting the new rates on 183A Toll, 290 Toll, 71 Toll Lane, 45SW Toll, 183 Toll, and the MoPac Express Lane. The new rates took effect Jan. 1, 2025.
The majority of tolling points on Mobility Authority roads saw a 2.44 percent increase, consistent with the Consumer Price Index (CPI), equating to rates approximately $0.01 – $0.05 greater than the previous rates at each toll gantry for customers with electronic tags driving two-axle vehicles.
Consistent with the 2021 Traffic and Revenue Study, three tolling points on 183A Toll will adjust for an increase slightly above the CPI: the Crystal Falls ramp, Crystal Falls Mainline Plaza, and Lakeline Mainline Plaza will increase by $0.09. Additionally, the base minimum rate on the MoPac Express Lane will increase by $0.08 cents.
As a partner in in the Central United States Interoperability hub, the Mobility Authority accepts any of the following tags on its toll roads as payment: North Texas Tollway Authority’s TollTag, Harris County Toll Road Authority’s EZ-TAG, Kansas Turnpike Authority’s K-TAG, Oklahoma Turnpike Authority’s PIKEPASS, Florida Turnpike Enterprise’s SunPass, Colorado’s ExpressToll, Cameron County Regional Mobility Authority’s Fuego Tag, and Bancpass. An electronic tag account from any of these tag providers is the most cost-effective way to travel on Mobility Authority toll roads. Pay By Mail customers, or customers who drive on toll roads without an electronic tag, pay rates that are 50 percent higher than rates paid by tag holders plus a $1 processing fee.
There is also an option for customers who wish to pay discounted toll rates without getting an electronic tag: Mobility Authority Prepaid Registered Accounts. This payment method allows customers without an electronic tag to have their tolls paid automatically rather than waiting to receive a toll bill in the mail. Customers can opt in online or over the phone, add $25 to their registered account, and begin driving Mobility Authority-operated toll roads hassle-free. Registered account holders receive a 25 percent savings on Pay By Mail toll rates.
Electronic tag account holders that do not attach the tag to their vehicles will incur a 10% increase to the tag rate to cover additional administrative and operational costs.
Customers without a tag who choose not to opt in for a Prepaid Registered Account can pay their toll bill in person, over the phone, online, by mail, or QR Code.
