The Tuesday, Nov. 5 General Election saw incumbents reelected in the Wisconsin State Assembly and Congress, as well as Washburn County offices.

Seventh District Congressman Tom Tiffany was reelected, winning by 274,110 to Democratic opponent Kyle Kilbourn's 156,730. Tiffany also led in Washburn County, with 7,064 to Kilbourn's 3,635.

Rep. Chanz Green was also reelected to the Assembly District 74, with a total of 23,400 to Democratic opponent Jeanne Rand Bruce's 14,053. Green also took Washburn County with 6,902 votes to Bruce's 3,775.

In the U.S. Senate race, incumbent Sen. Tammy Baldwin defeated her Republican opponent Eric Hovde by a 49.4% to 48.5% margin

The Northwood School District operational referendum passed 561-506. However, Shell Lake School District's operating referendum, in a very close vote, was voted down 917-912 (note: These are the unofficial results before canvassing.).

The state referendum asking to amend the language about voting passed 2,253-310-943,174. Washburn County also voted in favor of the amendment, 8,083-2,367.

Donald Trump was elected president for the second time over Vice President Kamala Harris. Trump led Wisconsin in the polls.

Washburn County District Attorney Aaron Marcoux, Treasurer Nicole Tims, Register of Deeds Jessica Hedinger and County Clerk Alicia Swearingen were all reelected, running unopposed.
