Jonesborough celebrates Harry Potter's birthday Aug. 9 with the return of Wizardly World of Jonesborough.

A truly magical experience is returning to Tennessee’s Oldest Town on August 9 from 3 to 8 p.m. as Downtown Jonesborough is transformed into a world of wizardry in celebration of Harry Potter’s birthday.

Muggles, wizards, witches, house elves will have access to over twenty treats, drinks, and activity stops. This will range from Fizzing Whizzbees to Liquid Luck and wand-making. During the event, festival goers will meet real live owls, explore Hagrid’s Hut, enjoy delicious butterbeer, and some might even discover the secret passage to Diagon Alley.

Two ticket options are available; a pack of 10 tickets can be purchased for $20 which provides access to sample themed food and drink tastings at designated locations along with activities, or the same pack of 10 tickets plus five alcoholic beverage tickets for $35.

In addition, attendees can join the Goose Chase for a 1-mile race, the Sorcerer’s Sprint, to celebrate Harry Potter’s 45th birthday. Everyone is encouraged to attend dressed up in your best Harry Potter outfit and help us celebrate his birthday. A separate ticket is needed for the Sorcerer’s Sprint and can be purchased at thegoosechase.org/sorcererssprint/.

Visit Jonesborough.com/wizard for more information and to purchase tickets. Once tickets sell out, festival goers can still enter and participate in free activities.
