The Henry Players production of “Yes Virginia, There Is a Santa Claus” opens Friday and continues through Dec. 15.
Show dates and times are Friday, Dec. 6 at 7:30 p.m.; Saturday, Dec. 7 at 7:30 p.m.; Sunday, Dec. 8 at 2 p.m.; Friday, Dec. 13 at 7:30 p.m.; Saturday, Dec. 14 at 2 p.m. and 7:30 p.m. and Sunday, Dec. 15 at 2 p.m.
Amirah Love Robinson plays the lead role of Virginia O’Hanlon.
The character “is a curious and thoughtful young girl living in 1890s New York City,” a statement from Henry Players read. “She embodies innocence and a desire for truth, grappling with the age-old question of whether Santa Claus is real. Encouraged by her father to seek answers through critical thinking, she writes a letter to The New York Sun. Her unwavering belief in the magic of Christmas and her earnest pursuit of understanding make her a symbol of hope and faith in human kindness. Virginia’s character reflects the wonder of childhood and the enduring spirit of curiosity.”
Other cast members include Luke Roca as Sean O’Hanlon, Derek Tremaine as James O’Hanlon and Anne Fisher as Evie O’Hanlon.
