Nvidia, Oracle team up to power DOE’s biggest AI supercomputer ever

Nvidia CEO Jensen Huang presented new artificial intelligence projects at the company's 2025 GTC event in Washington, D.C., according to Yahoo Finance, which covered the major technology gathering. The chip maker revealed several important partnerships that will expand its role in the AI industry. Huang discussed topics including the competition between America and China in AI technology and why immigration matters for the sector.

The event also saw CrowdStrike receive a stock upgrade from Arete analysts. Yahoo Finance reported that Huang used the keynote speech to showcase how Nvidia plans to strengthen its position in various technology markets.

Building America's largest AI supercomputer

The Department of Energy announced plans to create its biggest AI supercomputer through a partnership with Nvidia and Oracle, as detailed by Nvidia's official news release. The system called Solstice will use 100,000 Blackwell GPUs to help scientists make new discoveries. Another computer, named Equinox, will have 10,000 Blackwell GPUs and should be ready by mid-2026.

Both machines will be placed at Argonne National Laboratory. The supercomputers will help researchers develop advanced AI models for scientific work. Nvidia's announcement emphasized that these systems represent the Trump Administration's commitment to keeping America ahead in AI development. Energy Secretary Chris Wright praised the partnership as a smart way to boost national technology strength.

Expanding into multiple industries

Huang revealed deals with major companies across different sectors during his keynote address, Axios reported while covering the conference proceedings. Nvidia will work with Uber to support 100,000 self-driving vehicles worldwide. The company also partnered with Nokia to advance 6G technology and with Palantir for government AI applications.

Huang told attendees that President Trump requested bringing manufacturing back to America, and Nvidia now produces Blackwell chips in Arizona. Axios noted that Huang emphasized how AI data centers are helping reindustrialize the country. He argued that AI will create jobs rather than eliminate them, despite recent layoffs at companies like Amazon and UPS.
