Princess Catherine of Wales is set to make her first public appearance in months for King Charles III's official birthday ceremony on Saturday, after undergoing cancer treatments. Catherine announced her cancer diagnosis in March and has been completing chemotherapy since then, according to CNN.
According to reports, Catherine has stated her cancer treatments are progressing well, and that she expects the treatments to continue for several more months. On Saturday, the Princess will stand alongside the rest of the Royal Family at the Trooping the Colour ceremony and King Charles III's birthday parade. Princess Catherine has not been seen publicly since Christmas Day of 2023, according to CNN.
Her scheduled appearance on Saturday is not a return to official duties, as her appearances will follow medical guidance and are subject to change, according to CNN. According to reports, a Buckingham Palace official mentioned that King Charles is "delighted" Kate will be participating in tomorrow's events.
Princess Catherine first publicly revealed her diagnosis earlier this year in a video message, stating she had received the prognosis after undergoing an abdominal surgery for what was initially believed to be a non-cancerous condition. According to CNN, neither she nor King Charles, who is also battling cancer, have shared information about their specific diagnosis or the direct nature of their progress.
Prince William has resumed his public duties, after taking time off amidst the Princess's initial diagnosis, having recently traveled to France for the 80th anniversary of D-Day alongside King Charles III.
