On Thursday, the Seattle Seahawks unveiled their new NFL Rivalries uniforms, which the team will don during a home game against the Los Angeles Rams planned for Week 16, the team announced on its website. Designed by Nike, these uniforms capture the spirited essence of Seahawks fans.
Seven other teams also revealed their NFL Rivalries uniforms just in time for the start of football season, reports ESPN; teams include the Arizona Cardinals, Buffalo Bills, Los Angeles Rams, Miami Dolphins, New England Patriots, New York Jets, and San Francisco 49ers. According to ESPN, each team will wear the uniform for one division home game.
NFL Vice President of Club Marketing Taryn Hutt reportedly said in a press release described by ESPN, "The unveiling of the first eight Rivalries club uniforms and fan gear marks a significant moment for the NFL, Nike and Fanatics, as creativity and innovation merge together to deliver a new take on what it means to be a rival.” ESPN also added that more team Rivalry uniforms will be released over the next three years.
Regarding the uniform’s design collaboration, Director of NFL Apparel Product Design at Nike, Ryan Airhart, detailed in the NFL’s announcement how the new program will help grow the fanbase for generations to come. “Each uniform was designed in collaboration with the club it represents to authentically reflect what makes their team, fans, and communities wholly unique," he explained.

The Seahawks aim to celebrate their fans and city
According to the Seahawks, the NFL rivalry jerseys feature wolf gray as the primary color, complemented by iridescent green numbers that stand out in various lighting. A significant focus, however, is the incorporation of fan engagement elements. The design features a "12s" patch and a repetitive "12" pattern in the numbers that is visible under specific light conditions, emphasizing Seattle's bond with its fans, the announcement explains.
As Allison Hoover, Seahawks managing director of marketing, noted on the website, "This uniform is a tribute to the 12s, the loudest, most passionate fans in sports. When opposing teams come to Lumen Field, they not only face fierce competition on the field, but also the high-decibels of the 12s in the stands."
The uniform is complete with iridescent green helmet details and metallic chrome finishes, while a light wolf gray background makes a visual connection to Seattle's iconic skyline, ESPN added.
According to the Seahawks website, fans eagerly awaiting these iconic jerseys can look forward to purchasing them from Wednesday, September 10, both in-store at The Pro Shop locations at Lumen Field and Renton, as well as online at proshop.seahawks.com.
