Donald Trump is set to make his first public appearance in a week, amid rumors over his health and alleged death. The recent absence from public view fueled news and social media speculation, but Yahoo News added that instead of addressing these concerns, Trump’s announcement will be regarding the Department of Defense. Forbes clarified that Trump will reportedly focus on announcing the new location for the US Space Command.

Reports of Trump’s death gained traction due to his lack of public appearances and mysterious bruises on his hands, Yahoo News says. Further, the speculation intensified online, with search inquiries like "is Trump dead" climbing to the top on Google. According to Forbes, liberal critics, including commentator Keith Olbermann, questioned the ambiguity surrounding Trump’s health, sparking further conjecture.

Back in July, the 79-year-old president was diagnosed with chronic venous insufficiency(CVI), a common condition in those over 70, Yahoo stated, citing Trump’s physician Sean Barbabella, who called the condition “benign” in a memo. Despite the bruises attributed to handshaking and aspirin use—also stated in Barbabella’s memo—the White House confirmed after medical assessments that he has no signs of more grave ailments, such as deep vein thrombosis or heart failure, Yahoo reports.

According to Forbes, Vice President JD Vance, in an interview with USA Today, downplayed concerns, saying Trump is in "incredibly good health" and Vance is prepared to assume any duties if necessary.

On his Truth Social account, Trump declared he has "never felt better," dismissing the online rumors. His office appearance aims to pivot attention back to official duties, such as the Space Command announcement, which the Pentagon confirms will be streamed live, says Forbes.

Trump’s Oval Office announcement is set to take place at 2 p.m. EST.
