Broadway star Idina Menzel will make her highly anticipated debut at Lyric Opera of Chicago for one night only on Saturday, May 1, 2027, at 7:30 p.m. CT. The Tony Award-winning actress, singer, and songwriter will perform with the full Lyric Opera Orchestra under conductor Edwin Outwater at the Lyric Opera House, as reported by the official Lyric Opera of Chicago press release.

Menzel, known globally as the voice of Elsa in Disney’s “Frozen” and for her iconic roles as Elphaba in “Wicked” and Maureen in “Rent,” said she will deliver a personal program of musical theater favorites. According to the announcement, the event marks a “once-in-a-lifetime voice to Chicago’s grandest stage for one night only,” as noted in the press release.
Ticket sales begin for subscribers
Tickets for current subscribers and those purchasing a new Create Your Own subscription series go on sale on Wednesday, June 24, at 10 a.m. CT, with priority access to the best seats. Tickets then go on sale to the general public on Wednesday, July 8, at 10 a.m. CT.

According to the announcement, fans can sign up for a special one-day pre-sale on Tuesday, July 7, by visiting lyricopera.org/idina. The Lyric Opera Box Office is open for in-person sales Tuesdays through Fridays from 12 to 5 p.m. Demand is expected to be high, and subscribers are encouraged to secure seats early, the opera house added.
Single tickets for the 2026/27 season, featuring seven operas and four concerts, are available now to subscribers. For more information, fans can visit lyricopera.org.
