Chicago’s beautiful Riverwalk is known for its scenic views, bars, restaurants, a lively night scene, and the busy passing of boats and kayaks on the river–all well worth the trip for sure. That underratesthe live music that can be heard daily on the Riverwalk. Some really good tunes can be heard from Chicago-areabands.

Here is a sampling of some of the possibilities:

Tiny Tapp:  Every Thursday and Sunday, some quality bands play right next to the river at this popular midway Riverwalk landing spot. The drinks flow, as does the conversation, but the music is the big hit on these days. Details at www.tinytapp.com.

The Island Party Hut:  Nearly every weekend, and on some weekdays, there’s plenty of musicat this popular east-end location. A blend ofone-person or two-person live music groups, along with some award-winning DJs, spins the tunes to the crowd’s delight. Calypso music, some Jimmy Buffet, and some rock ‘n’ roll mix in for an always good time. Details at www.islandpartyhut.com
