Chicagoans can head to Activate for date night, group outings for families or friends, or a fun place to rally the kids this summer. In teams of at least two people that are ages ten and up, players can test their physical and mental agility and can take part in real-life challenges, including the following rooms:
Hoops: a basketball game that involves trivia
Arena: a dodgeball game where players aim at different targets
Control: one of its new rooms where players navigate games on a screen
Hide: a game where players stealthily move around the room and complete given sequences without being detected
Portals:a game where players must quickly toss a ball around the room and choose the correct pipe to place the ball inside
Grid: a navigation game where players step on or avoid specific tiles to complete a level
Mega Grid: a larger and more complex version of Grid
Climb: a climbing game where players must navigate the room using specific handholds
Laser: a navigation game where players must maneuver through a sequence of lasers to the safety zone
Press: players must quickly and strategically hit certain buttons on the wall to complete patterns
Up to groups of five players can play each room at once, with groups of six or more being split into smaller teams. Challenges in each room run between 1 to 3 minutes, and groups have up to 75 minutes to play as many private games as possible.
Tickets for each player start at $24.99, with online reservations recommended. Find Activate - Chicago at 1600 16th St., Unit 6, Oak Brook, IL.
